So this is my year of walks...

Nothing fancy. It is exactly what it says it is. Over the next year, I want to take a walk every day. For an entire year. Hopefully, along my journey I can discover better health, weight loss, and a sense of direction and purpose in my life. And so my journey begins. On my way to a better me.

Jan 1, 2010- The Journey Begins

It starts here! Today. This is what happens when you're too big to weigh yourself on a conventional home scale. This politically correct little weight-measuring machine won't tell you you're "too fat", or to "step off". It kindly says "Error", as in "I'm sorry, but there must be something wrong with me as your scale, because I can't calculate your huge bodily mass". Well, I know I'll be making progress, when this thing can weigh me without generating an error!

So this is my year of walks. Nothing fancy. It is what it says it is. Over the next year, I want to take a walk every day. For an entire year. Hopefully, along my journey I can discover better health, weight loss, and a sense of direction and purpose. And so my journey begins. On my way to a better me.

Today, I met Cindy. Cindy was out walking her two terriers (Baxter and Teddy, Teddy's the girl), and something must have told her that I was committing to my new years resolution today. After exchanging some brief pleasantries as strangers do, we then had the most intimate conversation that two strangers could ever have. I opened up to her about MY problems, and she poured hers out on me. Strange unless you'd been there. Cindy's making changes too, and it will be interesting to catch up with her on her journey, as I continue to explore mine.
